Keepsake Pillows!

I ran across this tutorial on how to make Keepsake pillow. I fell in love! What a wonderful idea for a present! I made one for my wonderful next door neighbor just to play around. I am not sure how the girl that made the tutorial got her year or the names of the kids on the pillow. I am going to play around with different ideas until I figure something out. But I think they would be at hit with the grandparents for gifts!!!

This was what it looked like before I ruined it with Fabric paint. LOL. I really have to figure out how to get the names and year on it. 25 years from now, the kids will ask how old they were and well, I can't speak for everyone else, but I won't remember LOL

And this is after I ruined it with the fabric paint. Luckily neighbor is awesome, and still said she loved it. I really do like the idea, I just need some further tweaking on the idea ha!

Who Dat Fever...

Have I ever mentioned, how badly I hate the slogan "Who Dat?" If not, I hate it dearly.. No one was a fan of the New Orleans Saints until last year.. And that was all I heard about last year.. The only Saints fan I knew of prior to them winning the super bowl was my Father. But, because it's football season again, and the Saints are the hot thing around my neck of the woods, I have to make what people are wanting, so I am breaking down and joining in the ranks of the "Who Dat?" nation.. I will sacrifice and make Saints themed items, but I will not label any of it "who dat",  I will not watch a football game this year. But I will have a great time learning to make these things, and my heart will sing when I see the precious little kids in their "Who Dat?" wear.. Game Face on!

OH! and I now have a facebook fan page.. click here for it

Tie onesie 1st attempt

I absolutely Love this blog. Trey and Lucy She has the most amazing stuff, and is such a crafty person! I found her template and tutorial for the appliqued neck tie onesie. I fell in love. Only problem, all my friends are pregnant with girls. FINALLY, one of my friends got pregnant with a boy (Hallelujah!) So I finally got to give it a go. I downloaded the free template here from her blog. It's not perfect, but pretty darn good for my first attempt. And by the way, onesies are SUPER hard to maneuver around a sewing machine. The mommy loved it, and that's all that matters!

I decided it was a  little plain.. I put a "W" on it, for sweet little Wyatt's name. And I attempted to make some shorts to go with it. I will try them again, because well, as you can see, they won't quite fit HA! I instead gave them to my daughter, and she put them on her American Girl doll. Fits perfectly!

Now, I need to find a template to make some little boy bloomers. I thought I could just "wing" but, apparently I can't. HA!

Getting back into the swing of things..

My poor poor blog.. It's so empty.. I need to update it.. I didn't have much time for crafting with summer. Kadence being out of school empty my "fun money" and of course the house flooding added to that as well. But I've started back, and have a LOT of new projects in the works! I'm so excited. Football season is starting, and I have many ideas. With the help of my Bestie, we are going to get this started! So stay tuned, and I'll be blogging more!!!

Rosette Headband

Well, I decided to try something new last night. My daughter was walking around with a headband, just a plain yellow elastic headband. And I remembered this blog I read where she added cute little rosettes to her headband. I got her tutorial here So I go to dig through scrap material. I didn't have any felt, like sewhipmama did, so it's not exactly like her's but man it's so cute, and my kid really loves it. She didn't take it off. My sister agreed to model it for us.

White is so unforgiving...

Before I get to the one I finished tonight, I better put the one from last night on here. It was another same design I did last week.

Black towel vs white thread.... not fun. A deputy of mine wanted a black towel, with a "M" on the towel. He basically wanted the same exact design I had done before with the "J" Same fabric etc. This one was a toughie. I am not sure what the deal was, because I have been flying through them like crazy, but this one, I had to sew, rip seams out of the places I messed up, etc. And when it was all said and done, the velcro was crooked. I am just going to have to leave it, because I sewed the velcro on with black thread, and couldn't tell what was thread, or what was towel. Oh well, maybe she won't notice. You're your own worst critic eh? Anyhow, here it is.

Latest design

Just wanted to post the latest towels I did. I have also been playing around and adding different gadgets. I added a link to my picasa album and it has most of the sewing work I've done. Feel free to look around. Also I added an "atom" feed to my page, and it is supposed to allow you to get email updates as I blog. Hope it all works, and please please tell me if it doesn't!

OH! and I also ordered the cutest business cards ever!! :) Hopefully I will be able to post pictures of them soon!
